You dreamed that you were a queen, and you know that there’s more to it.

Dreams are often more than just dreams. They often bear messages that the universe is trying to tell you, as well as bare your innermost desires and fears.

So here, in this article, I will give you ten psychologically-backed reasons why you might have dreamed of being a queen.

1) You know you deserve better in life

When people talk of royalty—of kings and queens—most people imagine boundless power and ease. A life of luxury that most people sadly don’t have enough of.

When you dream that you’re a queen, it might be because deep down inside you resent your current situation in life.

You might have so many ambitions that you simply haven’t been able to fulfill. Maybe you’ve been struggling to achieve your goals for so long that you’re just tired of it.

There’s so much more that you know you deserve, be it success in love, your career, or what have you.

And yet you might have resigned to your fate, or perhaps you feel helpless to do anything at all. Maybe you thought that it’s too late for you now.

This is when your subconscious steps in. It gives you dreams of you being a queen to remind you of what you deserve… and that you can still get them all!

2) You admire (or envy) someone great

When we admire people, it’s almost always mixed with a streak of envy. We want to be them…or to become someone even greater!

Take a moment to think about the people you admire.

Perhaps you admire your boss, who you know to be a successful millionaire who has it all. Or perhaps you admire your best friend, a talented musician who’s well-loved by everyone they know.

They all likely possess traits similar to a queen—strong, ambitious, determined.

People who’ve achieved any form of success have power, and that’s why you’re given a taste of this power in your dreams. That’s how you imagine how it’s like to be them.

It’s telling you that you can have it, too! But be careful with comparing people’s outsides to your insides.

Think of designing a life you truly want based on your own wishes, and not just to be like others so you can also have money, fame, and power.

3) You feel stuck where you are

Dreaming of becoming a queen is your subconscious telling you to look hard at your life right now.

It tells you to get unstuck while you can because you have an “inner queen” that needs to be unleashed.

The idea seems easy enough to grasp, at first. But then you find yourself getting stuck wondering exactly how you are supposed to get your life moving again.

You see, contrary to popular belief, it really requires something more than willpower to get unstuck in life.

Back when I was in my twenties, I led an aimless life. I was without direction, and was just doing whatever I needed to do to get by. I thought I simply lacked discipline.

But in hindsight, what I was lacking was direction and the confidence to go for the life that I really aspire to have.

First thing you need to learn is to take things one step at a time, and you can do this more effectively with the help of  a highly-successful life coach. Mine was named Jeanette Brown.

I tried her course called “Life Journal” and in just a month, my life got better. And in a year, I was already close to the life that I always imagined for myself.

Having a sensible and compassionate life coach is a good investment. It forces you to take charge of your life, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get unstuck.

4) You want to be seen and respected

In your waking life, you might feel that people treat you like you don’t matter. They might ignore you, dismiss your ideas, or even scold you in front of other people.

Our dreams are often a reflection of our traumas and insecurities. The dream life is the realm where we try to “fix” what we find flawed in the waking world.

If you’ve been feeling “invisible” lately, then no wonder you dream of becoming a powerful queen. When you’re a queen, everyone looks up to you. No one can ever ignore you.

But you live your life awake.

Make sure that you eventually find a way to deal with your traumas and insecurities. Try not to take people and their reactions too seriously, or find new people who value you for you.

5) You’re about to find your purpose in life

Perhaps you’re feeling more confident in your decisions and life choices, and this confidence bleeds into your dreams.

Being a queen means you know how to take charge and pursue whatever it is that you choose to do.

This dream gives you a taste of what your life will be like if you just continue to pursue your goals. And if in your waking life you feel a little worried that things won’t turn out fine, just remember what it feels like to be the queen in your dreams.

Let it give you the confidence to find and follow your purpose relentlessly.

6) You’re now ready to take bigger risks

Queens don’t deal with small things…they aim for big ones. And maybe that’s what you’re feeling in your life right now.

Perhaps you’ve been wanting to leave your job so you can pursue what you really want to do in life. It’s just that you’re scared.

But now, you’ve gathered enough savings, experience, and most of all—courage, to finally do it.

You’re about to take a big leap and you’re not so scared anymore. In fact, you’re very excited because you KNOW things will turn out right.

You becoming a queen in your dreams symbolizes this newfound confidence to take bigger risks.

7) You have a newfound faith in the universe

If you dream of being powerful such as being a queen, then you have a good mindset of how the world works.

You no longer think life is unfair. Or you now realize that life is unfair to everybody and we should just deal with it.

This might also mean you now trust your destiny and you don’t see everyone and everything as your enemy, but as your allies in achieving your dreams.

You now know that anything you want is within your reach and that the universe will cooperate to help you achieve your goals, no matter how impossible they may seem.

8) You now value yourself as a woman

The queen represents feminine strength.

One possible reason you’re having a dream of being a queen is that you’re now starting to see your strengths and not your weaknesses.

Perhaps at one point in your life, you thought that being a woman is a curse. Maybe you hate being seen as someone “girly”, or you hate how men treat you like you are incompetent.

You’re not to blame for this.

It’s not easy being a woman—not a hundred years ago and not even today.

But now you see your strength, and you’re fully embracing who you are. You no longer see being a woman as a disadvantage. Rather, you now try to show them (and yourself) how wrong they are about women.

9) You’ve been feeling powerless

Royalty are romantic symbols of an easy, idyllic life.

People who have the wealth and power to do whatever they desire, and not worry that much about life.

It’s normal for people who feel powerless or who have lost control over their lives to wish they were in a better place. That they were powerful, free, and respected—Royalty, in other words.

Perhaps you’ve been swept up by one too many obligations or debts for you to keep up with, or maybe other people have been making your choices for you.

Your dreams serve to help you cope with this feeling of powerlessness, to help you endure it for now… as well as to motivate you to take action and take charge over your life.

10) Your life will be out of the ordinary

A sad truth in life is that most of us will honestly live and die in mediocrity. Very few people actually live lives that stand out.

Most of us would get up at six, eat breakfast, go to work until 5 in the afternoon, and then go to sleep. This same pattern is repeated day after day until we retire.

But you don’t want to be part of that! Or at least, you want your life to be a bit more exciting than just that.

You have your own ideas on what an ideal life should be like, and you want to live by your own standards rather than that of someone else.

And that’s because you’re not just any other commoner who’s content to live an “average” life.

You’re a queen. You have something inside you that’s not like everyone else’s. And this kind of thinking enters your dreams.

You truly believe you’re NOT put here on earth to live and die, that you’re here to make a mark and even get a little crazy.

You want to have your relationships the way you want to.

You want your job to not just be about money.

You don’t want a life that’s ordinary…and you’re about to have it.

3 things to do if you recently dreamed of being a queen

1) Reflect on your life right now

There’s something going on in your life right now—something that’s affecting you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. What is it?

Don’t try to shrug everything off just because you’re tough. Face them to examine your life and yourself.

Are you insecure about something and it has been triggered a lot lately?

Do you have a strong urge to follow your passions but something or someone is holding you back? Are YOU holding yourself back?

Do you feel invisible in your work or relationships?

Ask the hard questions, examine your life closely, and figure out which ones matter the most.

Once you’ve assessed your current life status, look back. Think of your past and how it connects to the present.

Then when you’re done, look forward. Think of your goals and dreams and ask yourself if the way you live your life right now can lead you to the future you envisioned for yourself.

2) Identify your life purpose

After dreaming of becoming someone powerful, well…you have no choice but to find out what your life purpose is!

It’s a nudge from the universe that you should be doing something greater. Do it now so you won’t waste time like I did.

When I was much younger, I thought that I would just figure out my purpose when the time was right—that it was just waiting for me to be ready. Well, that was a mistake. I wasted a decade waiting!

But I know what you’re thinking…you’re probably rolling your eyes saying “Sheesh, If it were that easy…”

I know because that’s exactly what I felt before.

But let me tell you this: It won’t “come to you” like what many gurus promise. You won’t wake up one knowing exactly what you want to do with your life.

You have to look within yourself and keep digging until you find out the answers. You dreamed of becoming a queen, but you have to be the one to find out what kind of queen exactly.

You have to dig and dig and dig until you find clarity. And no one else can figure this out but YOU.

However, there’s a way to hasten the process.

You can get guidance from a guru. Just make sure you find a good one and not some fake self-help gurus who’ll just sell you ineffective visualization and positive thinking techniques.

I learned about the No-BS way of finding my life purpose (and the right guru) by watching Ideapod co-founder Justin Brown’s video on the hidden trap of improving yourself.

In this video, Justin shares his lessons on finding purpose with renowned shaman Rudá Iandê.

After watching the video and joining Rudá’s class, I figured out what my life purpose is. I can say it straight and with confidence.

I realized that my purpose is to be a filmmaker that captures the suffering of ordinary people. I’m still doing it now and I consider myself lucky…but boy, I do wish I was able to figure it out sooner. I would have been much better at my craft today if I started earlier.

But well, as they say, better late than never.

3) Slowly turn your dreams into reality

Dreaming is not enough. We know this.

You dreamed of becoming a queen because the universe is trying to help you realize your worth, and because there are so many things in life that you’ve yet to do.

But no matter how hard the universe tries to make you meet your full potential, if you don’t do much to help yourself along either then nothing will happen.

You may want to be an artist, for example, but have not done much to further that ambition because you never had the money, or because everyone else around you does it better than you.

In this case, you might want to start small. An ordinary pencil and several sheets of paper can do a lot to help you get started, for example. You can always save up some money to buy fancier tools when you’re better.

Or you might want to tour the world someday but have always been too busy with work to actually go on a vacation. You might want to save money and vacation days in this case.

Whatever you do, always take the time to think thighs through and act with care. Eventually, you will make your dreams a reality.

Conclusion

There are many different reasons why you would dream of being a queen, but if you were to look at the big picture it becomes apparent that they are all interconnected.

It’s often tied to a sense of helplessness, discontent, and frustration, as well as a strong desire to be powerful, respected, and free.

It’s both a way to help you better endure your trials in the waking world, as well as remind you of your worth.

So if you find yourself dreaming about being a queen—take heart, because you are one, deep down inside.

You’re not just any other girl. Whether or not your life makes the history books, one thing is sure—it’s not going to be boring.
